Should you not agree with any of these terms and conditions, please do not use our website. The term ‘Youthrive Victoria’, ‘Youthrive’ or ‘us’ or ‘our’ or ‘we’ refers to Youthrive Victoria. Content published on the website remains the property of the Registered Publishing body and Youthrive Victoria will accept no responsibility or liability for content published by other registered Publishing bodies [see Privacy Policy]. This document sets forth the Privacy Policy for the Rural Youth Network website, www.ryn.org.au.

www.ryn.org.au is committed to providing you with the best possible customer service experience. www.ryn.org.au is bound by the Privacy Act 1988, which sets out a number of principles concerning the privacy of individuals. 

Collection of your personal information
There are many aspects of the site which can be viewed without providing personal information, however, for access to future ryn.org.au customer support features you are required to submit personally identifiable information. This may include but is not limited to a unique username and password, or sensitive information in the recovery of your lost password. 

For each visitor to reach the site, we also expressively collect the following non-personally identifiable information, including but not limited to browser type, version and language, operating system, pages viewed while browsing the Site, page access times and referring website address.

We may occasionally hire other companies (third parties) to provide services on our behalf, including but not limited to handling customer support enquiries, processing transactions or customer freight shipping. Those companies will be permitted to obtain only the personal information they need to deliver the service.

If you would like to do so, please let us know. You may be required to put your request in writing for security reasons. www.ryn.org.au  reserves the right to charge a fee for searching for, and providing access to, your information on a per request basis.

By signing up to The Rural Youth Network you are agreeing to;

  • Be respectful to other users at all times
  • Interact in positive and authentic ways with others at all times
  • Not demonstrate any behaviour that is unlawful, discriminatory, bullying or likely to endanger the safety of others
  • Be responsible for my own personal safety while interacting online and respect the boundaries other users have

Safety Tips

  • Do not give out personal information such as your address, phone number or bank details online
  • Always be cautious and curious. Don’t trust everyone you meet or everything you read online
  • Look for hints of suspicious activity such as emails asking you to click a link or give personal information
  • If you see or experience unpleasant/bullying behaviour report it
  • Use strong passwords (letters, numbers & symbols) and different passwords for different accounts
  • Read through the privacy settings and terms & conditions before signing up to online platforms
  • Review the privacy settings in your phone and on social media platforms regularly
  • Review what is set to public on your social media accounts regularly.
  • Remember anything posted online is there forever
  • If unsure about someone’s behaviour or something you’ve received, there is no harm in reporting it

Reporting Users and Listings

What happens when you report something or someone on the RYN?
When something gets reported to us at the Rural Youth Network, we’ll review it and remove anything that doesn’t follow our  Terms of Use. When making a report your details will remain confidential.
Please keep in mind that reporting something to The Rural Youth Network doesn’t guarantee that it will be removed. You may see something you don’t like on The Rural Youth Network that doesn’t violate the  Terms of Use or Community Guidelines.

Please see below for reporting on different platforms as The Rural Youth Network cannot moderate content on other online platforms.

What can you report?
Any communications or behaviour which you feel breaches the User agreement can be reported to Youthrive Victoria. Report something here.
Please keep in mind if you are engaging with someone on a different platform it is best to report them to that platform. Please see the below links for useful information.

Remove My Account

How to remove your account
You can remove your account by:

  1. Log into your account.
  2. Click Account Settings in the left hand side menu.
  3. Select “Delete account” and follow the onscreen prompts.

What happens to your data
Once your account has been removed, your data is immediately deleted from the Rural Youth Network website. Along with your account data, we also remove any listings you created, along with your favourited, connection and other account specific data.

Note: Your data might still be accessible in some archived locations to assist with system accountability, and user safety until manually removed. If you’d like this removed urgently, please contact our team at ryn@youthrivevic.org.au.

My account has been removed
Your account can be deleted for a range of reasons, however, if your account has been deleted without your permission, it’s most likely that you breached the Rural Youth Network terms of use.
