Parliament of Victoria – Youth Associates

Parliament are looking to employ youth associates over the next year to support the work of our community engagement team.

We’re looking for young people aged 18 to 25 who would be interested in casual work with us in the areas of administration, event support and social media content creation.

If you’d like to be considered for one of these roles, send your resume to community@parliament.vic.gov.au

Under our youth associates program, the Victorian Parliament offers paid casual employment opportunities for young people to work at parliament. The program was established in response to a recommendation made by young people following a series of statewide consultations on how parliament could better engage Victorian youth.

Since 2017 ten young people have worked with us as youth associates, focusing on a range of community engagement initiatives, including digital engagement, a young women’s forum, an exhibition, a video bulletin and projects to connect with the Deaf community, videos on youth leadership, graphic design, and an event for culturally and linguistically diverse young people.

Youth associate placements are arranged through organisations that engage with or provide services to young people. Community organisations interested in finding out more about the program can email: community@parliament.vic.gov.au
