Aged Care Vistors – Volunteering

Elder Rights Advocacy – Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) is recruiting now for friendly visitors across Mount Alexander Shire.

We are looking for friendly, compassionate and caring volunteers interested in enriching the lives of older people living in residential aged care or at home. If you love a chat and can commit to visiting someone weekly or fortnightly, for at least 12 months, we’d love to hear from you.

The recruitment process includes an application form, interview, online training (also available in paper copy) and National Police Clearance. You will be supported by a local program officer. Once completed, we will match you with an older person with similar interests in your area for you to visit.  We know the value of a regular friendly visitor and the impact it has on both volunteers and recipients.

We are currently seeking volunteers to participate in the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme in the Mount Alexander region. If you enjoy spending time with older people and have a spare 1 or 2 hours a week, we’d love to hear from you. Together, we can reduce loneliness and social isolation across the region.
