On Sunday 25th May 2025, board our evening transfer train for the journey to Melbourne. Our steam locomotives will storm Warrenheip Bank and head towards Melbourne via Gheringhap. Travel via the freight only line from Ballarat to Geelong, featuring the 440 metre Moorabool Viaduct, historic bluestone stations and bridges and changing landscapes from the golden plains to the heavily forested sections near Lal Lal. As we get closer to Melbourne, we will also return via the Regional Rail Link, not often used by steam hauled trains on today’s busy network.
Make use V/Line services between Southern Cross and Ballarat to connect with our one way steam hauled transfer train – Note due to infrastructure works coaches will replace V/Line trains between Melbourne and Ballarat.
